This weekend we had a great group of young people volunteer to model our products for us. We had a lot of fun and were able to get some good photos for our online store. I am working to get all our new products online by Saturday so they are ready for our fall sales!
We have a number of sales coming up soon! This Friday we'll again be at the Lansdowne Market and then on Sunday we will be here (at 401 Lyndhurst Rd) as part of the Lyndhurst Arts and Culture Tour. Stop in and see some demonstrations and get a head start on your Christmas shopping!
Stay tuned for more times and date of up-coming sales.
We are very excited to announce the arrival of our luxurious alpaca fibre duvets! They are currently available in size queen or double. What is so special about these duvets?
These handmade duvets are 100% alpaca fleece batting in 260 thread count, down proof 100% cotton. Light but warm, alpaca duvets are made of natural alpaca fibre which is a hollow fibre, its these properties that give it its great thermal properties, keeping you cool in summer and warm in the winter. Alpaca is its ability to regulate body temperature and the ability to wick away moisture from the body, giving one a better night’s sleep.
In addition to this when the moisture has been wicked away the fibre dries out quickly, this then makes a very dry environments which prevents dust mites living in the products. Alpaca fiber's porous nature is naturally dry and clean which prevents dust mites and other allergens from settling in making it hypo-allergenic.
Our duvets are also environmentally friendly. Our alpacas are raised in a pesticide free environment and their wool is a renewable resource. No chemicals, dyes or bleaches are used when the wool is processed. We use only 100% cotton fabric so the whole product is biodegradable at the end of its long life. Alpaca fiber loves fresh air and will re-loft when put outside for a few hours. Our products are also washable – with care. Please refer to our washing instructions.
Here is what the stats say:
We are finally settling in to our new location in Lyndhurst, Ontario. However, the remaining alpacas are still in their temporary home in Huntsville. We would really like to see them sold to a new farm as soon as possible. We have 11 male alpacas left (3 of which are cria) and 1 male guardian llama. If you are interested, please text Barb at 705-507-1197.
Our online store is still open and we hope to have a small store set up in our new home as soon as possible. We are hoping to make the rounds to Fairs/Shows again this Summer/Fall and hope to see some of you there!
Although the farm is closing and our family is moving, the business of Round House Alpacas will continue to remain open online www.roundhousealpacas.ca selling our hand knit alpaca products, yarn, socks, and jerky. Barb can also still be reached at 705-507-1197.
The herd is currently up for sale, there are 10 males, 3 cria and one male guardian llama left. Pictures of (most) of them can be found in our gallery. Please contact Barb for prices and information.
We have been knitting up a storm all winter (and it has been a LONG winter!) and now we are trying to get our online store up-to-date! More new knitted items added daily. Just added to the mittens and hats categories, check them out! Here's a sneak-peek...
